In a momentous occasion for the Panjim Province, two deacons, Father Royal Fernandes and Father Joswin D'Souza, were ordained as priests on December 17 and 18, 2024, respectively.

The first ordination took place on December 17, 2024, at Christ the King Church, Kayyar, where Father Joswin D'Souza was ordained by Bishop Aloysius Peter D'Souza, accompanied by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha of the Mangalore Diocese.

In his sermon, Bishop Aloysius emphasized the significance of Christian priesthood and how a priest represents Christ. He exhorted Father Joswin to be a faithful servant of the Lord and to shepherd his flock with love and care.

Father Joswin's motto, Lord, make me a shepherd like you, reflects his commitment to emulate the Good Shepherd and serve his people with humility and compassion.

The newly ordained priests were congratulated by their families, friends, and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The Panjim Province is grateful to God for the gift of these two new priests, who will serve the Lord and his people with dedication and zeal.

We wish Father Royal Fernandes and Father Joswin D'Souza all the best in their priestly ministry and assure them of our prayers and support.
