Young Bearers of Hope: A Joyful Salute to St. Dominic Savio

QUICK BITE -

Young Bearers of Hope, was the theme for a week-long celebration in honour of the young saint, Saint Dominic Savio, that culminated on July 5, 2025 with the much-awaited Savio Nite- an evening filled with vibrant activities, joyful expressions of talent, and the solemn installation of the newly appointed leaders of the Bosco Boys’ Home, Tuem.

In keeping with the Catholic Church’s declaration of 2025 as the Year of Pilgrims of Hope, this year’s Savio Week carried a special focus. The boys were introduced to the inspiring lives of young Saints and Blesseds such as Isidore Bakanja, Chiara Luce Badano, Pier Giorgio Frassati, and Kateri Tekakwitha—all of whom lived lives of courage, joy, and unshakeable hope despite their youthful trials.

The boys explored the lives of these holy figures through interactive quiz sessions, video presentations, and creative notice boards. Adding colour and meaning to the week, they also performed short skits on values, and handcrafted frames featuring uplifting quotes on hope—simple yet powerful reminders that holiness is possible at any age.

The Savio Week was a time of reflection, creativity, and renewal of purpose. It inspired the young to rise above discouragement, live with joyful conviction, and, like Saint Dominic Savio, become radiant bearers of hope in today’s world.
