The Leader Training Programme at Don Bosco High School, Oros, successfully held on July 7, 2025 was an enriching and inspiring event organized to help student leaders understand and develop their leadership potential. The training was conducted by Assistant Director, Don Bosco Animation Centre, Benaulim, Father Austin Fernandes and included a variety of interactive and thought-provoking activities.
The session began on a joyful note with a small dance that set a positive and energetic tone for the day. Following this, Father Fernandes addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of the responsibilities entrusted to them as leaders. He stressed the need for cooperation and teamwork, highlighting that true leadership involves working harmoniously with others.
One of the engaging activities involved building a tower using paper cups and pencils. This task encouraged team coordination, patience, and communication, which are all vital qualities in a good leader. The activity allowed students to experience first-hand the importance of collaboration.
Later in the session, Father Fernandes spoke about the importance of being a responsible and value-driven leader. He explained the core values that every leader should inculcate, including honesty, respect, dedication, and service to others.
The programme concluded with a series of unique and creative games specially designed by Father Fernandes. These games were not only fun but also effectively highlighted the leadership traits needed to succeed in both school and life.
In conclusion, the Leader Training Programme was a great learning experience for all participants. It taught the school Captains how to be good leaders, responsible team members, and supportive mentors. The participants were grateful to Father Fernandes for guiding them and helping them discover the leader within.
