The Salesian Province of Panjim Konkan organized an on-going formation course for 35 perpetually professed called, The Tree of Life, post mid-life conference, a special renewal programme animated by Rector, DBYC Pune, Father Ian Doulton SDB in two batches as per the profession years from September 21 to September 23 and from September 24 to September 26, 2025.



The course, Tree of Life focused on guiding the confreres through the transition from being doers of things to Salesians who are living their Salesian vocation with joy. The animator, Father Doulton helped the participants through presentations and group discussions to arrive at an identity that was based on who he was rather than an identity that was defined by what he did based on the gospel passage of Jesus, who do you say that I am?

The course was based on Amadeo Cencini’s proposal for growing gracefully. It points us to Christ, the Son, the Servant, the Lamb who gathers our lives into His own. In Him, our fragmented stories are made whole and death becomes not an end but a homecoming that is filled with trust and peace.

The participants were divided into two batches, the seniors and those who fell in the age group of post 50 years. The participants expressed positive feedbacks to holding such courses that helps them to charter, to live a more meaningful and contented religious vocation as they advanced in years gracefully.

Provincial, Father Clive Telles thanked the Vice Provincial, Father Banzelao Teixeira for conceptualizing the topic and organizing the course. Father Tamatur Cardozo in a poetic genre thanked the animator Father Doulton for his insightful presentation peeped with antidotes from his life experiences.
