A Marian Serenade was organized by the ADMA group of Odxel recently, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Odxel. The event was held to promote devotion, deepen our faith and increase our knowledge about our dearest and loving Mother Mary. Various groups and individuals responded to invitations sent out to express their love and devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary through a song, skit, etc. Around 150 people participated joyfully in the Serenade.
Father Joel Dsouza, our spiritual director welcomed the audience and also enlightened them about the spirituality and working of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA). Provincial, Father Clive Telles, graced the occasion with his presence and addressed the audience with a few words.
The programme commenced with two beautiful performances in songs by the children of Taleigao Parish conducted and trained by their Catechism teacher Prianjali Cotta followed by a skit by the World Apostolate of Fatima. The Ave Maria rendered by Vinita Fernandes and her choir of different age groups kept the audience really fascinated. The Seniors Group of the Our Lady of the Rosary parish, Caranzalem showed the audience that age is just a number. Their performance conducted by Bertha Fernandes was really amazing. Performances by Lucia and her girls, the Caranzalem Cooperators, Living Waters Prayer Group and Gregory and his team really were outstanding. The final two skits by the MFC Youth and the members of ADMA, Odxel kept the audience in splits.
In between the items, a quiz was conducted by Leonie Saldanha to test the audience about the knowledge they had of Our Blessed Mother Mary. MC Enid Varela did a good job managing the entire event. A vote of thanks was given by the President, Charmaine Kostka which was followed by the fellowship meal. It was a fulfilling and enjoyable evening well appreciated by all who attended and each of them looking forward to participate in the next Marian Serenade.
