Special Christmas Eucharistic Celebration for North East Youth at Attavar Held

QUICK BITE -

Father Anisio Mota celebrated a special Holy Eucharist for the youth from the North East in preparation for Christmas. The celebration was marked by deep reflection, active participation, and a joyful spirit, making it a truly meaningful experience for all present on December 21, 2025 at Don Bosco Attavar, Mangalore.

During the homily, Father Mota, kept the youth actively engaged by using innovative and creative methods of preaching. Centered on the theme, what gift do you have for Baby Jesus? he emphasized that the most precious gift Jesus desires is not material offerings, but our hearts. Using simple yet powerful props, he illustrated how Jesus enters our lives when we are willing to open our hearts to Him.
He further stressed the importance of inner preparation for Christmas through a sincere and meaningful confession. He encouraged the youth to empty their hearts of hurt feelings, gossip, jealousy, and all that hinders their healthy personal and spiritual growth. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, he highlighted how Jesus consistently chose simplicity: He was born to a humble village girl rather than a queen, chose a stable instead of a palace, and lived as the son of a carpenter rather than a wealthy man. Through these examples, the youth were reminded that it is simplicity, openness, and availability that Jesus seeks.

Referring specifically to the youth from Manipur and the North East, Father Mota acknowledged their pain, brokenness, and suffering. He affirmed that Jesus comes into hearts marked by simplicity and forgiveness, praising their courage in forgiving those who had caused destruction to their families and livelihoods. He assured them that Jesus would surely rebuild their lives and make them stronger than before.

Approximately 75 youngsters from the North East participated in the Eucharistic celebration. Following the Mass, the gathering continued with joyful Christmas caroling, fostering a sense of unity and festivity. The celebration concluded with a delicious Christmas lunch shared by all. Father Jason Pinto also joined the celebrations, adding to the joy and warmth of the occasion.
The day was a beautiful experience of faith, hope, and fellowship, helping the youth prepare their hearts meaningfully to welcome the Christ Child.
