Don Bosco Sutgatti, Hubballi celebrates Bal Mela

QUICK BITE -

The Bal Mela was joyfully celebrated on February 8, 2026 at Don Bosco Sutgatti, Hubballi, with the enthusiastic participation of 220 children from four centres and migrant communities. The campus came alive with laughter, colour, and vibrant energy as children gathered to celebrate their childhood in a spirit of unity and joy.

The programme began on a prayerful note with the lighting of the lamp, invoking God’s blessings, followed by a melodious prayer song. The dignitaries present on the dais included Rector, Don Bosco Academy, Father Lionel Braganza, Salesian Province Panjim, Economer, Father Jose Sequeria, Father Marwin Vaz, Father James D’Souza, and Father Savio Dias, whose presence encouraged and inspired everyone.

A meaningful and engaging session was conducted by CWC Member Ms. Noorjan, who spoke eloquently about childhood life, the many opportunities available to children, and the importance of enjoying every moment of life. She encouraged the children to grow with values, responsibility, and confidence, inspiring them to become good and responsible citizens of society.

The day was filled with exciting games and group activities, enabling children to express their talents, build friendships, and experience true joy. A delicious meal was lovingly provided, adding warmth to the celebration. The event concluded with a colourful cultural programme and prize distribution, bringing smiles to every child’s face.

With God’s abundant grace, the entire programme was conducted smoothly and concluded at 4:15 p.m. All the children were safely escorted back to their respective destinations, marking a joyful and successful end to the celebration.

The success of the Bal Mela was the result of the dedicated collaboration of social workers, teachers, and youth, who planned and worked together selflessly. Above all, the children truly relished their childhood through meaningful play, shared laughter, and unforgettable moments.
