The Women’s Day celebration was organized with great enthusiasm and meaningful participation, creating an atmosphere of joy, reflection, and empowerment, bringing together women from the community to celebrate their dignity, recognize their contributions to society, and deepen their awareness of their rights and responsibilities on March 8, 2026 at Don Bosco Academy Sutgatti, Hubli.
330 women from Self Help Groups of Hubli and Dharwad District as well as Self Help Groups from Honnihalli, Belagavi participated in the programme that commenced with a prayer service at 11.00 am, invoking God’s blessings upon all the women present and upon the success of the day’s activities. The prayerful atmosphere was beautifully enhanced by a melodious prayer song, which filled the gathering with gratitude and hope. As a sign of divine presence and wisdom, the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed, symbolizing the light of knowledge, unity, and empowerment that guides society forward.
The dignitaries, Rector, Don Bosco Academy, Father Lionel Braganza, Social Commission Head, INP, Father Santaremnd Lopes, Project Manager, DSV Company Belagavi, Mr. Chandrasekar, and Advocate, Sister Veronica UFS, were warmly welcomed with flowers.
During the session, Veronica UFS delivered an enlightening and powerful talk on women’s rights and dignity. She emphasized the importance of recognizing the inherent worth of every woman and encouraged participants to be aware of their legal rights, to stand with courage against injustice, and to support one another in building a more just and respectful society.
