Prioritising Mental and Physical Health: DBC Hosts Interactive Workshop on Sports and Mental Health

Blending energy, interaction, and insight, Don Bosco College (DBC), Panjim department of Psychology in collaboration with the department of Physical Education and SANGATH, Porvorim, hosted an engaging workshop for 25 enthusiastic students titled, The Foundations of Sports for Mental Health: A Collaborative Design Workshop at the Bicentenary Hall on March 27, 2026.



The workshop, expertly facilitated by Mental Health Practitioner and Interventionist, Ms. Brinda Singh, and Counsellor and Facilitation Supervisor at SANGATH, Ms. Rakshanda Pai, came alive through interactive activities such as “Bingo with a Twist,” a football passing challenge, and a multi-level obstacle course. These activities not only energized participants but also demonstrated key concepts like teamwork, emotional awareness, and resilience in action.



A reflective session and collaborative planning exercise further enabled participants to internalize and apply their learning. The workshop effectively showcased how sports can serve as a powerful tool for stress management, emotional balance, and holistic development. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants inspired to embrace physical activity as a pathway to better mental health.
