The first Brother Rocha Memorial Cup, an invitational tournament was organised by the community of Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan (MBBS), Paliem, Goa, on November 13, 2022 on the MBBS football ground. It was a five-a-side football tournament, in which six teams participated. The teams were, MBBS Paliem, Don Bosco Sulcorna, Don Bosco Tuem, Don Bosco Odxel, Don Bosco Parra, and St. Joseph’s Calangute. The tournament was sponsored by Lion’s Club of Calangute Coastal.

Don Bosco Sulcorna won the tournament while MBBS Paliem came in second as runners up. Malick Badal of MBBS was adjudged best striker. A match was also played between the Salesians and the Past Pupils of MBBS, in which the Salesians emerged victorious. Chief Guest, Vice Provincial, Panjim Salesian Province, Father Banzelao Teixeira in his short address shared that Brother Rocha was a man who wanted to do something; he had a dream and worked towards it. He said to the boys, that they too could follow his example. Further, Father Banzelao said, Brother Rocha had a heart for boys, especially the poor, and that he would go out of his way to help them and would conduct many activities for them, this is how he would attract the young.

Henceforth, The Brother Rocha Memorial Cup will be held every year said MBBS, Rector, Father Jose Sequeira.
