Father Ivo Coelho visits Salesian Panjim Pre-novitiate

General Councilor, Formation, Father Ivo Coelho paid a visit to the pre-novitiate of the Salesian Province of Panjim (INP), along with Vice Provincial, INP, Father Banzelao Teixeira, Vice Provincial, INB, Father Ashley Miranda on February 23, 2023 at Loutolim, Goa.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the formation program, interact with the formation staff, the young seminarians, and to offer support where necessary. General Councilor, Father Coelho, was impressed with the over-all atmosphere at the Formation House. The seminarians appeared to be happy and measuring up to the objectives of this formative phase as understood from the interactive session held with the pre-novices. Father Coelho, spoke specifically on four points which included personal relationship with God through personal prayer, frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament and understanding the plan of God in each one's life. He urged the pre-novices to learn to know Don Bosco better and to examine if they have a love for poor youngsters just like Don Bosco. He emphasized the importance of spiritual direction and of knowing the Salesian vocation specifically the identity of the coadjutor brother and the Salesian priest.
