Summer programme

The Salesians of Don Bosco along with the Salesian sisters at Maria Nivas, Madanthyar conducted a two-week long Summer Camp from March 17 to 29, 2023. Brother Arun, along with the youth of the Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar under the guidance of Father Laurence Monteiro and Father Jason Pinto were the main animators of this camp. About 70 children participated in a series of fun and learning events held during the course of this camp.

On the first day of the camp itself, Parish Priest, Father Basil Vaz, spoke about the need of a holistic attitude in our children today. He also appreciated the Salesians of Don Bosco for their initiatives in this venture. The children participated in various competitions like, cooking without fire, rangoli and face-painting, dance competition, singing competition and the like. Sessions in Conversational English, Public Speaking and Soft Skills and a Good Morning talking at the beginning of the day, were a part of the series of events that marked the theme of, Beat the Heat. The whole day was packed with different activities and group games. The camp culminated with the Cultural Programme, followed by the picnic to John’s Water Park on the following day.

This was really a unique camp, we enjoyed each and every moment of the camp, was the response of Jeethan Sequeira, one of the participant of this camp. We not only learnt Public Speaking, but also gained confidence to take up leadership roles in our groups, exclaimed Joslia D’Souza the captain of the Blue group.
