Health Awareness Program and Medical Camp for brick kiln workers held

The Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan (MBBS) Dharwad team organized a Health Awareness Program and Medical Camp focusing primarily on Tuberculosis (TB) for workers engaged in brick kiln sites in and around Dharwad on January 30, 2025.

These workers, who handle mud daily, are vulnerable to various respiratory and occupational health issues. The awareness session covered TB symptoms, prevention methods, and self-care measures to promote early detection and timely treatment.

The target group were the brick kiln workers from inter-district areas of Maharashtra, and Hyderabad. A total of 6 brick kiln sites were covered. The beneficiaries included 55 workers who availed health check-ups and medical support. The medical team consisted of 8 healthcare professionals from the Local Primary Health Centre (PHC). The medical support provided was general health check-ups. Medicines were distributed based on the workers' health conditions. Workers requiring further medical attention were advised to visit the PHC for follow-up. The program successfully raised awareness about TB and provided essential medical services to the brick kiln community.
