A Day of Faith, Fellowship, and Future Vision, INP SYM Paschers Meet
The Don Bosco Youth Paschers came together for an unforgettable one-day reunion on May 11, 2025, at the tranquil Eden Farms at Cuncolim. With over 60 enthusiastic Youth Paschers and dedicated volunteers in attendance, the gathering served as a vibrant platform to rekindle friendships, reflect on the shared mission, and lay the groundwork for the movement’s activities for the 2025–2026 term.
Led with care and wisdom by the Director of Youth Services, Father Austin Fernandes, the entire event was carried out smoothly and joyfully. The day began on a refreshing note as participants arrived by 9:00 AM, warmly welcomed with light snacks and cheerful greetings. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as familiar faces reconnected and new friendships began to form. As the day unfolded, participants were led to a separate area within the venue, where a series of engaging activities were organized by a dedicated team of volunteers. These games set the tone for the day by encouraging teamwork, laughter, and a sense of belonging.
Session by Father Fernandes on Christus Vivit, Christ is Alive
The group was led into a spirit of prayer and reflection through a meaningful Eucharistic celebration held outdoors amidst nature, presided over by Father Austin. The open-air mass, surrounded by the beauty of creation, set a deeply spiritual and reflective tone for the rest of the day, gently shepherding the youth through virtue and faith. After the Eucharist, Noah, organized divided everyone into five diverse groups. The first session was an inspiring talk by Father Fernandes, who spoke about Christus Vivit, “Christ is Alive” an apostolic exhortation by Pope Francis to the youth. Drawing from its core message, Father Fernandes reminded the Paschers that Christ lives in their hearts and walks with them, urging them to embrace their calling with courage, compassion, and creativity, and to stay actively involved in the life of the Church.
Group session to plan for the coming year events
The afternoon session was a more Interactive and collaborative one, designed to spark creativity and initiative among the participants. Each group was entrusted with a specific month of the year, along with the responsibility to plan a spiritual activity or event to be organized during that month as part of the movement’s annual calendar. Given 30 minutes for discussion, the groups enthusiastically exchanged ideas, crafted thoughtful plans, and engaged in collaborative brainstorming, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and purpose.
Party games and fun session
At the conclusion of the session, each group nominated two members to serve as their representatives, who would facilitate communication and coordination within their teams. These ten emerging leaders were then formally inducted into the DBYPM Committee 2025–2026, symbolizing a pivotal moment in shaping the movement’s future and reinforcing the commitment to youth-led leadership and active participation. A hearty lunch followed, giving everyone time to relax and connect. The afternoon session was filled with fun and energy as the youth took part in different games and activities that helped them grow closer and work better as a team. There were Bible-based games to test their knowledge, group challenges to build teamwork, and fun water games. The games were led by Father Fernandes, Brother Sherwin, and the volunteer team, who kept the excitement going. Groups earned points for winning the games, adding a fun competitive spirit. The farm was filled with laughter, cheers, and happiness, showing the strong bond and joyful spirit shared by everyone there. The prize distribution ceremony served as the perfect finale, with the winning group being celebrated for their outstanding performance throughout the day. However, the true reward lay in the shared experience itself—a day filled with joy, reflection, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
As the sun began to set, Father Fernandes offered a few closing words, expressing his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a success. The spirit of the day remained in the hearts of all present, a reminder that their bond as Paschers is not confined to events, but lives on through everyday acts of love, service, and unity.
