The Salesian of the Panjim Konkan province came together to celebrate the family spirit at the Provincial community day at Don Bosco Animation Centre, Benaulim on January 15, 2026.
Celebrating the Eucharist, Provincial Father Clive Telles said, the coming together of the confreres on the occasion of the patron Saint, Saint Joseph Vaz was significant as we are all called to be missionaries to those to whom we are sent after the example of Saint Joseph Vaz who in the guise of a common porter administer the sacrament so the people. He called on the confreres to model their lives on the characteristics of the saint.
Preaching the homily, Vice Provincial, Father Banzelao Teixeira quoted the life of Father Moja a stalwart who not only pioneered some of our houses but one who solely for the love of Don Bosco did not give up the challenges and difficulties to make alive the motto of Don Bosco, Da mihi animas cetera tolle till the last breath of his life.
After a well animated Eucharistic celebration, the confreres gathered around the Provincial and his council to felicitate them with the cutting of the cake.
Father Savio Gomes, expressed his gratitude and admiration to the Provincial, his council members the in-charges of the various houses, commission heads and the confreres at large for their undoubtable contributions in the true family spirit to taking forward the mission and vision of Don Bosco in the province of Panjim-Konkan. He pointed out that the success of the mission is solely to the Salesian Family Spirit that is present from the lowest to the highest order in the province.
The evening also features a sing song, party action songs and an agape meal.
