The Department of Commerce of Don Bosco College (DBC), Panjim, in collaboration with the Training, Internship and Placement Cell (TIP) and the Don Bosco Past Pupils Provincial Federation, Panjim, organized a workshop titled, Roadmap to Success in Banking Exams on March 14, 2026 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The program began with an introduction by Dr Frazer Taylor, faculty in-charge, followed by a few words from the Principal, Professor Teotone Vaz and Manager, Father Kinley D’Cruz, who highlighted the importance of such career-oriented initiatives for students. Luis Fernandes, president of the Don Bosco Past Pupils Provincial Federation, then gave a brief introduction about the federation and its role in supporting student development.
The speaker, Mr. Menino Furtado, was formally introduced by Assistant Professor Ashfa Bi Shaikh, after which potted plants were presented to Mr Furtado, and Mr Fernandes as a gesture of appreciation.
Furtado covered several important topics such as different types of banks, an overview of the banking sector, career growth opportunities in the banking industry, and entry-level posts available in banks. He also explained the structure and pattern of banking examinations, including the syllabus for the preliminary and main exams, and provided insights into group discussions, panel interviews, and common interview questions asked during recruitment. Additionally, students were guided on accessing previous years’ banking examination papers for practice. The informative session helped students gain a better understanding of the banking career path and the preparation required for competitive exams.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Divina Dias. The workshop was highly beneficial and informative for the students who aspire to pursue careers in the banking sector.
