The Diaconate Ordination of 22 clerics took place on 26 March 2026 at Kristu Jyoti College, Bengaluru. The sacred ceremony was presided over by the Right Reverend Arokiaraj Satish Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bengaluru. The ordination marked a significant milestone in the lives of the candidates, who were called to embrace the ministry of service in the Church. Parents, family members, and well-wishers of all the candidates were present to witness this solemn and grace-filled occasion.
The Holy Eucharist began at 7:00 a.m, and was celebrated in a deeply solemn and prayerful manner. In his homily, the Bishop reminded the candidates that to become a deacon is to become a servant. He emphasized that they are called not to be served, but to serve, as servants of the Church and of the People of God. He further highlighted that their mission as deacons, and future priests, is to help people grow closer to God. The ordination rite was carried out with great reverence and dignity. The vote of thanks was proposed by Archdeacon Isaiah Newme, SDB.
Also present for the occasion were the Provincials and Vice-Provincials of the various provinces in India. The celebration concluded with a festive breakfast shared by all, especially the families and loved ones of the newly ordained deacons.
