Reviving the timeless Guru-Shishya tradition, Don Bosco Farm High School, Sulcorna, resonated with deep gratitude and cultural fervor during its Guru Purnima celebration on July 29, 2026. The morning assembly commenced at 8:30 AM in the school hall, bringing together the management, principal, teachers, and students. With a core objective to keep the rich Indian lineage of the parampara alive among the younger generation, the event beautifully underscored the truth that, A teacher ignites the spark that guides us from the shadows of ignorance into the light of wisdom.
The program opened with a serene and welcoming atmosphere as senior girls greeted the faculty with a traditional Aarti. Moving from darkness to dawn, the holy lamp was lit to illuminate the Guru’s path and invoke the blessings of the Almighty. This sacred ritual was performed by the respected Fathers, the Principal, and senior coordinator teachers. The solemn moment was further elevated by senior boys chanting the soulful Sanskrit shlok, Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara.
Following the invocation, the School Council delivered an insightful visual presentation on the literal etymology of the word "Guru"—where 'Gu' represents darkness and 'Ru' signifies its absolute removal. This concept perfectly mirrored the driving spirit of the day, In the classroom of life, a Guru is the compass that guides our character. In a deeply emotional segment, senior girls presented handcrafted cards, fresh flowers, and eco-friendly mementos to the teachers as a small token of their deep respect and love.
The cultural narrative deepened when Daksh Gaonkar of Grade 7 took the stage to narrate a powerful short story on historical pairs like Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya, reminding everyone that, True learning requires the shield of discipline and the sword of loyalty. The celebration concluded with a wave of artistic talent, featuring a melodious song by Teacher Bhakti and a magical dance performance by the girls of Grades 8 and 9, before drawing to a successful close at 9:00 AM.
